Meet Our Donors
On behalf of Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, we would like to thank all of our current donors for their generosity and support. Here are some of their stories.
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:5-8
We feel more and more that we live in a world of people with “unclean lips”. Always we read about people who lie, cheat, steal, bear false witness, and deceive others for their own gain. It pervades our media and creeps into our everyday lives. We read with horror about the loss of respect for human life and human dignity throughout the world. Rather than bring people closer together, modern times and the age of communication have driven a wedge that further separates those who have from those who have not. The words of the sixth chapter of Isaiah ring as true today as they did millennia ago. Into this world so needy, whom shall I send?
Clearly, a child learns to distinguish right from wrong from his parents, but the community around him provides reinforcement. Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart becomes part of that community for our young boys by helping them answer the call and develop into prepared young men. They educate our boys to seek an active faith in God, the strongest foundation. They teach them to respect learning, studying and intellectual values, and to illuminate ignorance. They reveal to our boys the social context in which we live and instill in them a deep understanding of the needs of the greater community. Princeton Academy teaches the value of a strong family, team, group or community as Christ did: that we are always stronger together than the sum of our parts. And Princeton Academy supports the boys’ search for individual freedom by nourishing their spirits and allowing them to grow through trial and error.
As our sons face the future, it is comforting to us to know that the values that we cherish so deeply are strengthened at Princeton Academy. We will stand with great pride when our boys answer the call in whatever situation they find themselves saying, “Here I am, Lord.” For this reason, Terri and I will support Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart now and always and invite you to take this same stand.
Mr. and Mrs. William R. Noonan
Before Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart had even finished its first year, William and Dorothy Noonan had included Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart in their estate plans. The Noonans learned that the Academy was being formed and they wanted to make a gift to show their strong belief in the value of Sacred Heart education for boys. Their staunch early support for the vision of what Princeton Academy could become was instrumental in the early success of the Academy.
Before Bill passed away in the spring of 2006, he was best known around the Academy as a kindly grandparent-type who had a twinkle in his eye and a soft spot in his heart for children. While his health permitted, Bill used to enjoy putting on his Santa costume and walk through our halls jangling sleigh bells and bringing treats to our wide-eyed lower school boys on St. Nicholas Day. The kids could not for the life of them figure out who that jolly man was, and he liked it that way.

Bill and Butz made it a habit to strongly support those causes they believed in. In 2003 they served as Honorary Chairs of our Spring Gala. Sacred Heart education for boys in Princeton was a dream they became passionate about, and helped to realize. Bill and Butz Noonan always worked to make a difference in their own community, and they have set a fine example for future generations. Their generosity will help to guarantee that a Sacred Heart education for boys will always be available to those who seek it at Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart.
